I bought this about three weeks ago only because it got the best overall reviews of all coffee makers for a 14 cup coffee maker. I in the past purchased their Swarovski crystal 14 cup coffee maker twice, which was a beautiful coffee maker, however, both of them went out on me. Can’t remember what happened to the first one as I’m 70 years old but the last one I purchased started leaking out the bottom of the coffee maker all over my counter when I poured water in it and set it to auto start time set. After I purchased two of them and both craped out. I was no longer interested in a cuasinart coffee maker. I wanted to try another brand but after reviewing all other 14 cup coffee makers and their reviews this one was the less of the native reviews for all the functions available in a 14 cup coffee maker. So far after about three weeks this one is working good but Three weeks is nothing. Ask me how it is performing after two or three years, not three weeks. Any coffee maker should get passed three weeks.

I have owned several Cuisinart coffee makers. I usually bought the style with the grinder for fresh beans. This time I decided to buy the maker style that uses only fresh ground coffee and has the glass carafe. This style makes up to 14 cups, is programmable for Bold, time to turn on, the led clock and the option to silence the sound when coffee is done brewing!!! Just a great Purchase. I highly recommend!!!

Larger Gold Tone Filter needs to be manufactured

I love the strong brew you get from this coffee maker. But, if I use 1 level spoonful of coffee per cup for 14 cups using a grind meant for a cone filter, the water will back up and overflow the provided gold tone filter. It does look like a slightly larger filter would fit in the basket if Cuisinart would create one for this model. My original idea behind purchasing it was so that there would be enough coffee to go around when entertaining at family get togethers. We like bold coffee flavor so 2 pots were necessary after all.
