Brews at the right temperature, which is critical to extracting the most from your coffee beans. Can’t tell if the “bold” function does anything, so i’m not going to deduct any stars for that.

After trying several other coffeemakers, I finally tried the Cuisinart brand for the first time. Am I ever glad I did! My husband and I are very picky with our coffeemakers. We have had many coffeemakers throughout the years(almost 40 years!) and this is the best coffeemaker we have ever owned! This coffeemaker has all the bells and whistles of other coffeemakers (plus some they don't have) but the difference is Cuisinart gives you the option to customize the features to your liking. The 14-cup capacity is perfect for morning coffee plus enough left over for to-go cups. The carafe is very well-balanced and comfortable to pour from with no drips or splash backs. The handle is far enough from the carafe that my husband can hold it comfortably without burning knuckles on the hot carafe. It is well-balanced in my hand while pouring. The full carafe (14 cups) is brewed in about 10 minutes. There is an option to set a tone to sound when the coffee is finished brewing, however, we prefer to not hear the tone so the option to turn it off is very pleasing! The option to control the heat of the burner (low, medium, or high) is great! The coffee stays at a consistent temperature and does not get hotter and hotter the longer it sits. I am also impressed with the choices of how long to leave the burner on before it automatically shuts off. I don't know of any other coffeemaker that will give you the option to leave the burner on for 4 hours before automatically shutting off! That is great for the weekends when you want a casual morning of drinking your coffee! The clock and timer are accurate, keep good time and easy to see. The water is poured in the tank from the top which is roomy making it easy to pour into. The charcoal water filter feature is an excellent addition and gives the coffee a very fresh taste. I have no complaints at all with this coffeemaker and am in the process of converting my entire kitchen over to all Cuisinart appliances. If their coffeemaker is this good, I can't wait to use their other appliances! My husband even bought me a new can opener as a surprise because he saw it was Cuisinart!
