Reliable and User-Friendly Microwave

My preceding GE microwave, identical model type, lasted 12 years. I was very happy to find that GE still makes this particular microwave. The settings are easy to use; interior and exterior are easy to clean; the exterior dimensions do not occupy excessive counter space; the interior dimensions allow for the largest size Pyrex and Corning casserole-style cookware; and the power level shortens cook time. In addition, the new model is far more quiet than the old one was. I will take good care of this new counter resident in the hope that it will last as long as the old one did.

GE 1.6 cu ft stainless steel microwave worked fine until it suddenly died 1 months short of the 2 yr mark. Very disappointed in the short longevity of this item.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

However, it is not possible to determine the product or part failure rate, lifespan, life expectancy, or life cycle of an appliance. There are multiple variables involved such as frequency of use, type of use, location of appliance, care, and maintenance.

Nice size but won't last.

Excellent size, cooks swiftly. Stopped working after 13 months, that's why the warranty is only 12 months. Turntable rotates, fan runs, but microwave element fried.
