2 years old, 3 micro switches later. GE plans on you not being able to fix stuff yourself. The question is why should you have to?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Has a lot of power is bigger than my last ge microwave and I love the color of silver and black. Really stands out. It’s the 1.6 model.

The little feet on the bottom don’t adjust so if you get a microwave oven that’s not exactly level, which we did, there’s no way to level it. We had to use a wooden shim under one of the feet. The rotating ring,(that the glass turntable sits on),comes up & off ‘track’ easily. I’d probably buy it again, but it doesn’t have a lot of competition in this size & wattage. It’s definitely made ‘cheaper’ than older-and better quality-models. Wish they’d make them with adjustable feet on bottom AND that they’d sit more flat or closer to counter surface. Found out it’s common now for them to be unlevel due to thinner metal underneath bending easily with packing, transport, etc.
