I recommend other GE products, and GE is standing behind this one, but it is a dud and should be removed from all stores to protect GE’s reputation!

Lasted less than 3 years!

I really loved this microwave. It worked really great UNTIL it didn't! It now quickly blows the electrical breaker. I certainly expect any appliance to last at least 3 years. I should have bought the extended warranty but I have never before needed one. And I have been buying GE microwaves since they first came out in the 70s.

I love the sturdiness of this microwave; nothing feels cheap about it. It works well, but a few months in, it started making wobbling noises from underneath the turntable; the turntable stayed steady but something inside/under must have been off. Everything was seated properly inside the microwave, but it made intermittent noises and eventually a screeching sound. It’s a product I want to keep, but once it started making a screaming noise, I had it replaced under warranty. Hopefully the replacement will do better. Overall, I love the quality of the microwave—the housing, the heavy electrical cord, the feel of the push button to open the door. It cleans up easily and is an attractive microwave.

We wanted a microwave over 1000 watts and did a timed cook with a single touch (1-6 minutes and an added 30-second feature). We got this and much more.
