This microwave’s touch pad is easy to use. The touch pad is set up in a logical display and the numbers and option buttons are large enough to easily read.

Have only had this unit fa few days but am finding I like it much better than I first thought. The instant 1-6 minutes and 30 second selection buttons are great. It's quite and it's powerful enough for most any requirements. My only complaint is you have to push really hard on the buttons to select anything.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Microwave

This microwave worked perfectly on cooking fresh mushrooms, carrots and broccoli I made. It also makes great baked potatoes. It did not come with a manual, which I had to find online - and you do need it to know how to select the options it provides you with. I have had a little trouble with the reheat feature. It seemed to cook for longer than was necessary, so now I just reheat by using whatever minutes I think necessary and lowering the power level. I love the timer because it keeps beeping until you turn it off. My old microwave just beeped 3 times and if you were in another room - you could have missed that the timer went off. It is easy to use, works excellent. Overall, I would recommend this microwave.

Some features are quesionable on comparison

Buttons are harder to push. Interior light bulb seems unfocused. One side of interior oven is in shadows. Heats really fast compared to my other GE, with only a 50 watts difference.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

As far as the new unit heating faster than your previous model, it is possible the older microwave became less efficient with age. If your new microwave is heating your food items within the time range listed on the packaging, it is operating as it should.
