Had it for less then 90 days and broke was cooking something in it and it had less then a min left and shut off would not start back up
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I like this microwave. It heats quickly and evenly. The only downside I have so far is that the membrane buttons have to be pushed down pretty hard to register.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good Size & Matches GE Stove

Bought this brand and model primarily due to best size fit for allotted microwave space in cabinetry. Only 3 stars due to longevity of microwave. This is second purchase of identical model. First GE Microwave, model JES1657SMSS (purchased in 2019) lasted less than two years. Magnetron stopped heating, though light and turntable continued to operate. Prior non-GE microwave lasted 9 years. Price point justified buying again on second microwave because of nice fit in cabinet space. Note: during use, steam does build up easily and quickly between the plastic panels in the door, but does evaporate after leaving door ajar for a few minutes afterwards.

Beep when the cycle ends is loud enough to hear without being intrusive, and stops when you open the door (my last one was too loud, and just kept beeping until it got to 5x, even after you started it up again). If you don't remove your food/drink right away, it will beep quietly - once - every so often to remind you. This is great for not forgetting that cup of coffee you re-heated! slightly squarer shape makes it easier to put things in/out. buttons 1-6 are instant settings; 1 min - 6 min. While the "sensor" settings seem to take more time, making me wonder if the food is in there too long, they really do an excellent job of getting items to the point where they actually stay hot for a while. Only downside is the tiny feet on the cabinet result in the unit sliding around on the counter. We fixed this by getting some inexpensive furniture coasters.

Most of the appliances are GE and haven't had any issues with them.
We bought this microwave to replace an LG that was about two years old and never really did what it was supposed to do.
So far this one is working well.

Great microwave. Just purchased second one as first went out. Haven’t ever used the sensor cook tech but it’s a nice microwave but prefer old version which was full stainless the black looks bit dated.
