This purchase was a replacement for a previous and similar size (1.6 Cu.ft) GE microwave that lasted about 5 years. I was hoping to get that repaired or take a shot at repairing it myself. However, some of the critical spare parts for the older model are not available. I found this strange because the new model is near identical to the earlier one-except the touch screen is organized a little differently. The old one was stainless steel while this one is white enamel painted. The new one is more noisy and makes a rattling/buzzing sound on top of the usual microwave noise. Either the vibration dampening is quite poor in the enamel model or was not done properly. However the microwave does work otherwise.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor Quality

Product started smoking and stopped working. Expected more quality from GE but I guess after being taken over by a different company I should not be surprised.

Second one we have purchased ...the sensor cook options are questionable at best ... "beverage" gets way too hot; defrost is good but reheat of vegetables is hit or miss. TouchPad is not backlight. Life of unit appears short ( first one died one week prior to 1year warranty date.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Powerful microwave and good size.

Good size for a countertop microwave. It is deep enough to fit big items. It has a good amount of power for the size of microwave. It has all of the settings and features we were looking for, although the reheat setting seems to cook food a little too long. We got a good deal because it was an open box, but even so, overall, a very good microwave for the price.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great medium sized white microwave!

Oven works great and gets food hot faster than the 30 year old GE oven that it replaced. The only thing that I would change, is to put a much brighter light bulb in the oven so you can see the food better. Way to dim.
