Solid Replacement

This microwave replaced a previous GE microwave which last 14 years. Not sure if this one will go that long, but we are familiar with the controls and it's slightly larger

Warm up food

I basically only use this microwave to reheat foods. Heats much quicker and at a lower power setting than my 2005 Kenmore microwave 1200 Watt. Definitely have issues with the buttons and setting the microwave at a lower power setting. Must use too many buttons

Disappointed in the features

This unit replaced the exact same unit that we purchased 7 years ago that finally died. We had such good luck we stayed with the same model. First thing we noticed is the digital display is very dim with no way to brighten it up. Next thing we noticed is all the print on the keypad is much smaller than the previous one (we are in our 70's) and the ink is much lighter making it harder to see. Then one of the more annoying features is that when using the time, at the end the beeping doesn't stop. The old one beeped 3 or 4 times and stopped. As for the cooking part, it works fine. Just the little things that drive you crazy.

I bought this to replace a 15 year-old microwave that was only 800watts and very compact, actually, a little too compact. This new G.E. is not to big or too small and fits my counter perfectly.
I especially like the sensor cooking for reheating, as that is primarily what I use a microwave oven for. The sensor cooking works very efficiently and heats very evenly.
