Works well, but not the most senior friendly unit.

Happy with performance, cooks fast, easy to use. Not particularly senior friendly. Print on keypads is small. Buttons are smaller and more difficult to push than our old Kenmore.

Heats Food Quickly

I am amazed at how quickly this microwave heats drinks and food up. My coffee spilled cuz I thought it needed a minute to get hot. Nope, more like 20 seconds.

I own a GE oven and LOVE it. So when I needed a microwave I purchased this GE model. I use the microwave for re-heating or for cooking frozen vegetables or frozen meals (like lean cuisine), I do not roast or bake or defrost so this model had more features than I would need but it was a GE so I purchased it. I am very disappointed in this unit. I don't believe it is working as it should be. I have had different experiences with it. 3 or 4 times now, while warming food (no more than 2 minutes on the timer) it just shut down. Clock went blank and when opened the door, no interior light was on. It was not the circuit breaker either. I unplugged and replugged it in but nothing. About 15 minutes later, the microwave was beeping and the clock re-illuminated and the interior light was working. 1 of the times this happened it took almost an hour before it came back on.
Another issue I find with this unit is the amount of steam that is generated within the unit when re-heating my coffee or cooking frozen veggies or meals. I set the timer for 2 mins to stir the veggies but when opened the door the steam was intense.
I tried the sensor cooking feature to re-heat a plate of food but the unit ran far longer than needed too. The food was not edible. I just use the timer instead. I wish the clock / timer was brighter--very dull, hard to see.
What I like about the unit is the turntable, the interior size which fits a larger plate or several smaller plates for re-heating and it came in white to match my other appliances.

So far we are loving our new microwave. The only thing so far I would change is that it is a little difficult to push the numbers/buttons but otherwise it is a great design.
