Buttons hard to press.

The microwave works as it should but the controls take a lot of pressure to activate. Sometimes the microwave will slid on the counter-top because of the pressure needed to activate the controls.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Liked our previous ge microwave that lasted for over 10 years!! Thats money well spent. Also wanted the same features and lighting display. Over ten years later ge is still our choice for keeping things the same.

Only had it for one week. Very powerful. It has many features. It cooks fast. The most important thing for me is that it cooks evenly and completely. There is nothing worse than half cooked food. Potatoes are my benchmark for how well a job it does in this category. Once you get familiar with experimenting with different size potatoes and the time to choose, it works fine. I don't care for the automatic sensor function. I don't think it works that well. I leave the power level setting to the default setting of 10 and then start experimenting with different cooking times. The quick food cooking settings of 1 thru 6 minutes will work in a lot of settings. I haven't tried it too much with frozen items yet. If you think it may be cooking something longer that you want it to, just press the cancel button.

Affordable power

I have been using this microwave for a couple of weeks now and it seems to be a really good appliance. The reason I purchased it was because it was really affordable for the size and power compared to other brands. I have had good quality GE appliances before and thought it was worth a chance. One feature I really like is that you can put a plate of food in and just press a number such as 3 to get three minutes. It has plenty of space inside and is powerful enough to cook everything I have wanted fairly quickly compared to my old microwave.
