Great ice maker!

My husband & I wanted a top freezer. We’ve had a bottom one & they are hard to clean. This one is just what we were looking for, but would like it to be bigger. We bought the biggest one GE offered in top freezers. The ice maker is outstanding! Small tray but it is active & has an on/off button, which we like.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Amazing refrigerator. no regrets!!!

Excellent equipment, for a while we had a smaller refrigerator. me and my wife were going crazy because we had to make more trips for groceries that we wanted plus with all this COVID-19 issue it just wasn't safe. So we decided to go shop in a store nearby, instantly as soon as we looked at this one we knew this was it. Let me tell you, plenty of space in the shelves and drawers, freezer is huge plus we don't have to worry about ice trays because the ice maker works great. stainless steel gives it a great look and overall it's a kitchen upgrade. Very happy with the purchase and looking forward for it lasting a good while.

Vegetable bins are too big, and take away valuable fridge space. The freezer is big, so that space is valuable. The fan is noisy too.

I had to purchase because of the size of my existing space. I understand this is not the top line but for the price I paid it should still be better quality. There is no light in the freezer. It freezes food on the top back shelf. I do not care for the shut off for the ice maker. Most fisappoi n yed with the fact it freezes food.

Front controls& large drawers reduce shelf storage

We have been disappointed with this refrigerator, and wish that GE would return to the design of 1990, as that model was much roomier. The front placement of the controls makes it difficult to place large milk bottles on the top shelf, and makes it look darker, as well. The crisper drawers are extra large, which takes space from the shelves. Two-liter bottles do not fit on the top shelf, and must be placed on the door, In our old refrigerator, the deli drawer could be moved to the left or right, depending on which way the door opened. This is not an option with the GIE21GMLES. The only nice features are (1) it is not noisy, and (2) it has an ice maker, which is a new feature for us. It is a reliable refrigerator, but the awkward storage space is frustrating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
