Not a comparable replacement

HP recommended this printer as the replacement for the M602 that we are using (since it has been discontinued). We were initially disappointed that the paper tray extends forward for legal-size pages, and sticks out the front of the printer (exposing the inside of the tray itself). Although the printer works like this, it is a bad design- aesthetically. We were able to find a 3rd-party piece that covers the open paper tray, so that debris cannot enter the printer (especially since this is being used in a manufacturing setting). The screen is not a touch screen, which is okay, however it has taken some getting used to in navigating the menus with the touch-pad. I'm sure this is a great printer for letter-size pages, but we would have re-though our decision about purchasing this model had known the design for the legal-size paper.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very Disappointed

We have 20 HP M605, and bought this for an expansion project. The new printer has Windows CE embeded for the display, it is slow and complicated. The menu system is terrible with way too many extra clicks to complete a configuration. The printer is fast and supports font cartridges, but at the cost of a confusing interface for the users and way bad menu system
Had lots of problems with the printer when we first setup it. Picking up multiple pieces of paper at one time. A couple of errors. Driver issues. We have been able to make it work. Keeping it because we don't have a choice.
The printer makes a loud high pitch noise every time it prints, this is the reason I replaced the old one and it is brand new and makes the same annoying noise.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just purchased the printer and it keeps curling the bottom page up right away, it doesn't matter how few pages we put in or how many(to the line). The guides are correct. So far not happy with that. It prints fast though. Setup for networking took way too long, a delay in the screen on the printer.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] HP has always been a reliable printer. We use them in all of our stores. The new M608n prints invoices quickly on front and back.
