Great Idea/Horrible Reliability

I purchased the matching set of Garage Refrigerator & Freezer. They look nice and was excited to get them up and running. After just over 2 years, the freezer failed and I needed to pay to have the controls replaced. After a couple more months, it failed again due to a bad sensor. Now, after 3 years, it is failing again. The refrigerator cooling coil freezes-up and the refrigerator stops cooling after about every 6 months. It needs to be completely emptied and thawed-out about every 6 - 9 months.
In retrospect, I can see why the warranty is only 1 year since it sounds like Whirlpool doesn't have confidence in the quality either.

Thought we'd be different... nope

We bought our Gladiator Freezer a year ago and our Refrigerator ~18 months ago. Like most reviews show, this product DOES NOT LAST. I am so frustrated - we love the look and capacity of both units in our garage. The freezer completely went out at 11 months (thank goodness under warranty) - but we lost an entire freezer of food. Whirlpool did send out a new freezer, but only after dealing with a repairman and waiting on a part that never showed. What a hassle.
The refrigerator just went out this weekend - won't cool below 50*. I'm writing this as I'm still on the phone with customer service - but don't expect much as we're out of warranty.
I'm not sure what is wrong with these products, but buyer beware. I thought we'd be different and take a risk. I'm seeing WAY more negative reviews than when we bought 18 mos ago,.

Major defect discovered after warranty

I noticed in the hotter months that condensation would accumulate at the top of the refrigerator cabinet. Finally realized the entire door frame is warped on top, which causes a poor seal. Of course it’s out of warranty now, and the extended warranty won’t help because the basic mechanical functioning hasn’t been compromised. So I guess I’m stuck with my manufacturing defect and whatever energy loss that comes with it. I cannot deal with Whirlpool’s quality control issues anymore.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

NOT "Garage Ready" in spite of the name.

This is a nice fridge, albeit expensive. But don't use it in the garage! In spite of the name, this refrigerator is not garage ready. Your liquids, eggs, etc, will freeze unless you heat your garage.

Lasted Three Years

After reading other reviews on the product, I'm grateful our fridge lasted as long as it did. A repair guy confirmed today that we had a leak in the evaporator system and the fridge is a total loss at this point. I would love to see the warranty extend pass the year mark, especially on something like the evaporator system. Most other companies will provide that in the warranty. We love the size and look of the unit overall. It was fantastic while it worked! We're holding out hope for the freezer to stay operational.

The temperature of the fridge is 52F. I can throw away all the food. We are 3 months after the 12 months warranty ended. Very disappointing.
