The sound is wonderful and it greatly increases the volume capability of the Omen whose built in speakers do not play very loud.
The headphones do come with the DTS X simulation known as Windows Sonic and it would be nice if the package came with a write up explaining how to enable this feature because it greater enhances the effect of the sound quality giving it a 3D like surround sound capability. It took me about 20 minutes to figure out how to get this feature set up.

Here's how to enable that feature on the HP Omen.
1) Click the Windows button on lower left of the screen.
2) After you click the Windows button, click Settings, which will appear as a Cog icon above the Windows button.
3) On the screen that appears, select the section that says, ‘System. Display, sound, notifications, power.’
4) In the menu that appears on the left, double click on Sound.
5) On the next screen that appears, near the top in the middle, click the link that say Device Properties.
6) On the next screen, where it says Spatial Sound, select the Option called Windows Sonic for Headphones.

I recently bought these headphones to replace a long series of headphones I have acquired since 1967. With my aging ears have resulted in severe hearing loss. I have to wear hearing aids all waking hours to even understand conversations. I have been using 3 different sets of expensive headphones OVER the top of my current hearing aids but they each amplify the base tones for a "fuller" sound". This base amplification is exactly what I don't want. My hearing aids were designed to amplify the upper range of tones where my loss is. This is typical of age related hearing loss.
The best thing about these new HP_ OMEN 800 headphones is that they amplify ALL the tonal ranges equally so that when I am using these phones while wearing my hearing my hearing aids the voice or music I am listening to comes through with full fidelity. Speech is very understandable.
The overall quality and comfort is excellent. My wife has excellent hearing (she does not wear hearing aids) and she has used these phones and agrees that the fidelity across all tonal ranges is balanced, full and free of any background noise. These headphones are an excellent buy. Priced very reasonably for the quality. I highly recommend!

Comfortable and Good Quality

I've used these for a month or so and I have been very happy with them. They are very comfortable on my head even with glasses, I feel the sound quality is excellent (I'm not an audiophile, so take it for what it's worth) and seem to be of good quality construction. They serve the purpose I want them to and would purchase them again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing product, probably the most comfortable headset I've ever had, I am a previous Artic steel series headset user and I must say this is much better quality. From the aluminum Chasity to the pleather earmuffs all the way to the quality. Amazing headset for the price. It is very bulky and I admittedly purchased the omen backpack hoping these would fit. Which they do but i am worried about wear and tear in the long run just due to the backpacks small area for the headset. This review is for the headphones though, and I am very happy with the overall quality, I don't believe you can get a better sounding headphones for the price.
