Poor slicing

My wife bought me the slicer/shredder for christmas last year. I tried to use the slicer attachment to slice cucumbers to make pickles and all the slicer did was make mush out of the cucumbers. I sliced my carrots with the slicer and really just ended up with more bits and pieces than whole pieces. So it did not save me any time at all. I would like to see more choices for the slicer so a person can make different thickness of slices. It is study for build but pood design for slicing and shredding though. I was not happy with it for making things go quicker. I am a very avid cook and was hoping this attachment would make life a littler easier but it did not.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The shredder "shreds" time off of kitchen prep

I have wanted the slicer/shredder/grinder attachment for my KitchenAid mixer for many years. I finally bought the set this past week and I love it! I really wish I had bought it sooner. The shredder attachment shredded the cheese I needed in a snap. And no grated knuckles that sometimes happens with a box grater. I can't wait to use the grinder attachment to make fresh ground beef for burgers.

Great for grinding game meat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought a Kitchenaid mixer for ourselves for Christmas, and a bunch of attachments, including the grinder. Well, we had some venison a friend gave us months ago, sitting in the freezer. Not the best cut in the world, but the gesture was generous nonetheless. Well, in short, after I trimmed the venison and cut it into 1" cubes (roughly), this attachment made short work of it. We ended up with several pounds of extra-lean ground venison. Not only did the grinder work well, clean-up was a snap. Just be sure to follow the instructions and do NOT overtighten the front screw-on cap—finger-tight is good enough.

I received this free from the kitchen aide company I couldn't believe it but I am sure glad I did ,, great piece . very sturdy made does the job kitchen aide does it again . I would recommend this product to anyone it grinds so much better than I thought it would I used the sausage stuffer to works great .

The plastic Grinder attachment - Don't purchase

I bought the plastic grinder attachment when I purchased my grinder. I didn't use it for a year - took it out of the box finally, it wouldn't even fit on my mixer. I couldn't believe it. It was for my model. It just click in like it was supposed to. Well, I just had to throw it away because it had been a year - I wasn't going to get my money back. Took out my Ninja to grind some ham for ham salad. I was really disappointed. Then I read other reviews and there were lots more poor reviews. Most about the plastic cracking. BTW - I LOVE my mixer. But I won't be grinding meat with it anytime soon.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
