I trust Vornado fans to actually move air and last a long time. This fan is no different. It came assembled and ready to use out of the box. My office runs around 77 degrees in the summer - so I needed something to move air and cool me down. I think in a more professional setting this fan might be a bit too loud and large - but I work in construction so no one cares about aesthetic in the office. The fan moves air! It's not blowing on me directly, but I can still feel air movement - which is why I love Vornados. I use the 2nd highest setting. The fan isn't quiet and I don't mind. It creates a bit of white noise that I actually like. The fan looks a bit industrial - so if you're looking for a cute thing to show off, this isn't it. If you want a heavy-ish fan that feels solid and can really MOVE AIR, then buy this!

This fan is obviously made of good quality materials; it is logically designed; simple to operate; moves a lot of air similar to a ceiling fan; precisely aim-able; not too heavy; and small enough to stow on a standard depth closet shelf. Cons: it's slightly louder/larger/heavier/less convenient, than my old Vornado model CR01-0012 type 610, which, by the way, is still working fine after many summers of use.

Impressive Power In A Small Package

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very impressed with the power of this fan. It is not large, but really does a great job circulating air to cool my office down. It has a very sturdy base which was quick and easy to assemble. The unit has three speeds and it swivels easily to adjust direction of the air flow. The size makes it easy to move to desired location. I removed the grill very easily to clean it. Overall, it is a very nice, very portable fan that appears to be well made. I also like the modern design of this fan and the base.

Superior Fan for Superior Circulation

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first Vornado Air Circulator and all I can say is, "Wow! Why have I been using box fans and oscillating fans my whole life!?" This fan truly does as advertised - it circulates the air amazingly well. It does take a bit of shifting around to find the optimal positioning but once you do, your golden. I live in a high ceiling loft apartment and really help move the cool air from my AC around the entire apartment. Definitely ditch your old school fans and pick up one of these!

Fans are great and this is a great fan

Fans use less electricity than air conditioning, they pull in fresh air from the window when the house is hot but it's cool outside, and they let me run the air conditioning turned down lower and still stay cool. So a good fan is important. And this is a great one. It's solid, runs well, can be aimed where I need it. It's great!

A May heat wave to remember

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, I would like to thank Mother Nature for the record setting heat in Minnesota (6 days in high 90s) in May. We used our new Vornado Air circulator to move the air conditioned air from one room to another. We had it sitting on a table top for a week straight during the heat wave. During this time, I was able to really appreciate the pros of the unit (ability to ACTUALLY move air, how quiet it is, the long cord and the speed settings). But there were some cons as well. I guess my biggest grip is the fact that there is no handle of any kind to make it moveable. I really just needed to move it from the table top to the floor, but really really just shoved my fingers in a lip on the side of the unit. Secondly, I am not a fan of the base design. Granted, it make it so that the fans swivel in many directions, but I guess it's just not to my liking (maybe since there was no handle to grab). But let me again reinforce the pros of this unit. It moves the air hands down. It has a great long cord, a plus when we have a ton of other things in outlets. And probably most importantly, its very quiet. You can hold a conversation when it's on easily. Would I buy this again, yes. And it you need a quality product, please don't hesitate it purchase this quality product.

Works better than a box fan - would buy again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this product in both an open concept living/kitchen area, as well as in my bedroom. It keeps up well enough in the very large room and does a very very good job in an enclosed room. It is easily as powerful as your average box fan and it is about the same noise level. The highest setting is a bit noisy but medium and low level are pretty quiet. It seems to cool the room beyond just where the main windstream is, which is great. The stand is stable. I only wish it had the option to set up a tall stand to get it up off the floor away from my kids. The packaging was also extremely simple - from box to functioning in about 2 minutes. Also, the cord is long enough that its practical for most spaces - you're not limited by cord length.
Pros: Compact, Good Power Output, Stable Base
