Horrible Clanking Sounds

I bought this fan as I like the style. Upon turning it on it was immediately clanky, rattling and noisy. I couldn't hear the TV at all. The only speed that doesn't rattle away is the highest speed. It is really bad!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought two of these fans to get me through the interim period, before AC was really necessary. After receiving the first one, and seeing it perform, I had to order a second one for my guest bedroom. Can’t deny my guests.
And, when I turn it to the high setting, it will literally, blow the sheets off the bed.

Yes, 20 years with this model and it finally stopped working. We received it as a gift from my parents after we were married. I had it running every night during those 20 years (sleep aid). Some things are still quality made. Time to get another!

I wanted a classic metal fan like the one I grew up with, and this looks like it’s basically a remake. It’s heavier than most modern fans, and it feel sturdy. It’s quiet, too, which I was worried about. And it looks like a classic.
Is it as heavy and solid as the one I remember? No, not quite - and the knobs are lightweight plastic, not the heavy bakelite that lasts for 50 years. On the other hand, it doesn’t smell like burning plastic, so I am calling it a win.
I’ve only had it for a month, but sitting on the floor of my home office it has kept me from needing another air conditioner.
