Doesn't work well in the cold

The button looks nice. And it works well unless it is cold. The operating temperature of the push button is -20C to 50C. But when the temperature is 3C or so and below, the push button doesn't work anymore. I've read many reviews saying it doesn't work in cold weather. My recommendation is to use a good quality battery, not one from the dollar store. It should work better with a good battery.
I did a battery experiment and found out that while the push button circuitry may work as low as -20C, it is extremely sensitive to the battery voltage. I had a no-name battery installed in the push button and a new Energizer battery sitting outdoor next to it. At -1C, as expected, the push button didn't work. The no-name battery voltage was 3.07V, which was still above the rated voltage of CR2032 of 3V. The Energizer battery was 3.21V. As soon as the Energizer battery was installed, the push button worked!
Now the push button works. I'll see if it'll stop working again when it gets colder in the winter. I am not sure how cold will make the battery voltage goes below the point that starts to make the push button stop working, or how long the battery will drain below this critical voltage.
I think there's a design flaw that needs to be addressed in the next version for proper operation in cold weather. The push button seems to require a voltage of not just 3V, but something above 3.07V.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

perhaps I need to take a little responsibility for this purchase BUT the pictures are certainly misleading
- easy to install
- doorbell sounds are clear
- volume good
- paring good
BUT
one you plug the unit into the wall receptacle, well you're beat because the other outlet is blocked - yup - unbelievable ... and we are talking mm
so ... if you are OK with loosing an outlet, buy it

HORRIBLE IN WINTER -10 DEGREES!!!!

GREAT PRODUCT BUT IF YOU LIVE ANYWHERE IN CANADA DURING WINTER IT STOPS WORKING PAST -10 AND THEN STOPPED WORKING FOREVER HORRIBLE FOR WINTERS.
