Light mode setting are disappointing

Overall this is a good wee light it's lightweight and very packable but the light mode settings are where it is a big letdown, you need to cycle through the modes High-Low-Red no matter what, so if you get up in the middle of the night for say the call of nature and you want to keep your night vision your going to be disappointed, you cant switch this light on in Red mode you need to press modes High-Low-Red and by then you've all but been blinded and lost your night vision, if only you could switch it off on Red and when you turn it back on it is still Red but no it comes on at it's highest light setting, perhaps even if they had reversed the settings to Red-Low-High it would have been better but it was not to be it's High first and if you don't want blinded in the middle of the night then you best turn it on with your eyes closed
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Small and Affordable

I like this little light and use mine often. I bought one for my son and he loves his. We both agree the other reviewer EcosseClan the switch sequence is its only slight drawback. If this switch seguence was in reverse, red, low, high, instead of high, low, red, it would be better for night vision situations. But since we both know the sequence and that its going on its brightest setting on the first click we just cover or look away if its a night vision situation. I like the compact size, I like the soft silicon dome cover. I like that I can use it flat or hang it from the retractable hook. I've hung mine from above (ceiling) and also from the side I(wall) I am very happy with this purchase and wouldn't hesitate to purchase again. Another good innovative product from Nite Ize.

Purchased this for small area illumination -- so I could work in a hotel room without disturbing my spouse. Perfect for the job! I wish the switch was a little different, so I could select the desired light setting w/out cycling thru all the positions, but this is a minor inconvenience -- not a "deal buster." I like the flexible dome over the light-source -- it probably won't break/crack if it gets packed in a tight spot. I also like the clip that is an integrated part of the base -- ideal for hanging the lamp.
