I’m really loving this headlamp! I like the frosted optic on the main beam which combines good throw and VERY good beam quality, the 3mm flood only LED triplet is nicely done with good vertical axis coverage, the red is the brightest red out of all my headlamps with the most throw, I like the indicator light for charging and good / low battery. One thing I particularly like is the 5 and a half second (I think) auto off algorithm where the next button press for spot / flood will turn the light off instead if cycling into the next mode, and how that time limit is also tied to the indicator LED. Very nice overall build quality, and I also really like the fact there is no annoying downward glare into your eyes like the new Energizer headlamps, though I just used a black permanent marker on the clear underside of the optic on the Vision HD+ to partially ameliorate this, it’s still really annoying... GREAT JOB Nite Ize!!!!!!!

the Radiant 250 headlamp gets two thumbs up and that's from an alpine climber with an imperative that a headlamp have excellent run time on low settings and a really bright blast for seeing distance...it was excellent for long routes in Yosemite with pre-dawn approaches and descents at night. Love the rechargability, however that might be a tiny ding for extended trips where one doesn't have some type of recharging capability in a super light alpine kit.I also used the Radiant 250 on a recent paddling trip in the boundary waters and loved it. In addition to the above observations I noticed that the red LED setting wasn't an afterthought - it's as bright as the white light. So not only is it subtle for light color around camp but it is bright enough to navigate the woods around camp when nature calls or unloading boats after the sun has set.

Very compact, light and bright

Have been using this headlamp for a couple of months now and the main drawback would be the lack of lock function to accidental switching on while carrying to and fro. The red lamp switches on when you hold the floodlight switch down for more than 2-3 seconds.
I would recommend this to a friend!
