Stinky washer

We are miserably unhappy with our front load LG washer. It stinks. We've followed all instructions, clean it with every use and it stinks. We live in a very dry climate, so there is no mold or mildew. It just stinks. Tried the washer cleaner tabs, bleach, baking soda, vinegar... Can't afford to replace it anytime soon, so a bad review is my only recourse. If this saves one person from having to smell this horrible odor, I'll breathe easier. Not really, because the washer stinks up the house.

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your machine. Below you will find directions on performing consecutive tub clean to rid your machine of buildup that may be causing the odor issue. If this does not resolve the issue, you may need to contact a service center to have the machine professionally cleaned. Detailed instructions on the required routine maintenance for your machine are located in your owner’s manual to prevent the issue from reoccurring in the future. ^AC
Washing Machine Cleaners: Tide Washing Machine Cleaner or Affresh
1. Follow Directions on Washing Machine Cleaner (Due to the amount of buildup you may double the tablets on the 1st Cycle) and do 3 Tub Clean Cycles in a Row
2. Use 2 Tablespoons of detergent maximum for a heavy load and 1 Tablespoon for normal loads
3. If you must use fabric softener, use very small amounts and dilute with water before putting in dispenser

It has a smell

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this brand new. First wash there was a bad smell coming from the washer rubber seal. Don't know if this will go away over time or if the rubber seal have a coating from the factory. Either way, the smell is bad.

I bought it a month ago. It's had to have the main board replaced. Still, It has to be unplugged then plugged back into the electrical outlet before I can turn it on. Sometimes after it's turned on after about 10 seconds it shuts itself off. I'm very frustrated.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This seems to be a better designed product than my previous washing machine. The grit filter can be cleaned without having to remove the front kick plate. The direct drive agitator motor is set an a slight angle that prevents clothes from becoming stuck in the door seal. It seems quieter than my old washer, and it is more difficult to get an "unbalanced load" error than my old washer.

Only one thing that bothers me; there is a smell of overheated electronics parts that comes from inside the door. Doesn't happen every time, but some loads have the "I'm an electronic component and I'm about to catch fire" smell.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my washer for a few weeks. Every time I wash towels or sheets, the machine starts thumping. I know the instructions say to stop the machine and redistribute the items, but come on. I shouldn't have to do that with every load. And I am not overloading. I have service coming out in a few days. (I replaced a similar LG washer that never had this issue)

Really hate to hear, please be sure the unit is level from front to back, side to side and corner to corner as this can cause noise during the wash. ^AC

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very quiet washer. It does not use a lot of water cleans clothes evenly. Because it is front loaded, I must remember to wipe rubber gasket around the door and keep the door open after each use to avoid moisture build up.
