Very Effective Damper with Slight Modifications

The damper was easy to install and it is effective at preventing back flow. The only downside and it could be because of where it is in my ductwork, just before a 90 degree elbow, that the flaps are noisy with the fan operating. If the design were to include a spring, it probably would be better. How did I resolve? I added weights (flat washers worked well) to each flap secured with heat tape to add a bit of resistor prevent “flapping in the wind.” Had I known ahead of time, I would have secured weights with sheet metal screws prior to installing. Overall, even with my modification, an effective damper.
I would recommend this to a friend!

7" damper for discontinued FiveStar Rough in kit

This fit my FiveStar range hood rough in kit. It's 7" and the FiveStar damper was 7". It's held in place by 3 screws and was a perfect fit.
