Blokus Game of Strategy

It was delivered promptly, in perfect condition. It is much better quality than I expected. It has a lot of pieces and they were all in order, well packed with zip lock type bags for storage, in a good box that should last with normal usage. It's not like any other game I've ever seen -- most children's games I see are just another version of old games. I highly recommend Blokus!

Best with four players

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have heard of Blockus before, so was excited to be able to test it. However, we are a family of three and my child is six. I was initially disappointed to see that the ideal situation for this game is ages 7 and up and with four players. You can play with two or three players with modified rules. (3 players is the most confusing since everyone gets to take turns with the fourth color.) Initially my spouse and I played a two player game and enjoyed it. Next I played it with my child only as a two color game to have my child get the idea of the rules. Then we all played together with only three colors to be less confusing (not adding the fourth color). It was fun and I think once my child gets older and can strategize better, this will be a great addition to our board game repertoire. (My child also simply enjoyed trying to place all of the pieces on the board with none left over.) Overall, a good game. I do like that it does afford some customization even beyond the initial rules and can still be played with satisfaction. The pieces seem durable enough for the type of play and getting started out of the box is super easy.
Pros: Durable, challenging
Cons: ideal for four players

Fun Family Game

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Game is a family game which said 7+ but even my 5 year old loved playing it along with my older two kids. Very easy game to learn and fun to play multiple times. We have a ton of board games and this will definitely make it to the lot of games we play with. Not the greatest of quality in workmanship however. The pieces should fit on the board easily and my eight year would sometimes have a little difficulty places the tiles down on the spot he wanted to. Would have liked it if the tiles had deeper grooves and could be moved easier. Also would have liked it if the board had 4 separated compartments for quicker setup of game play.
Pros: game is very fun to play and easy to learn., game pieces are solid, terrific replay value!
Cons: pieces could be made deeper., no separate sections for different colored tile.

EASY TO LEARN AND FUN TO PLAY

I actually enjoyed playing this. As a Dad most board games played with children are boring or incredibly frustrating.
Strategy and skill are a part of it, (keeps a Dad entertained) but a 7 year old can surprise you and win with dumb luck. The simplicity of "ONE RULE, ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES!" Is truly great.
I think some bags to store the pieces in would have given this 99.9 a 100, but a couple zipper bags solved that minor issue. On first open we played two games in a row and enjoyed both. Overall a great game that as it says on the box is "Easy To Learn" & "Great For Families".

Great family game to play with the kids

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This block-laying game was a blast to play with our kids. The instructions were very clear and concise. They were simple for the little ones to understand and follow. Gameplay goes pretty fast and holds children's and adult's attention. With a maximum of 21 moves from each player, there are several opportunities for everyone to win in one night. The game board and pieces are constructed of plastic and appear durable, giving this game the chance to be enjoyed for years to come.
Pros: Durable, High quality, easy to play
Cons: only up to 4 players

Appealing to one's mind

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loved this game from the moment I received it. It is very easy to learn how to play. The average play time is about 30 minutes, so you have a chance to play it a few times at a go. Played it with two players and while we enjoyed it, it played much better when there was four of us. It looks like a to easy a game to play but it becomes more and more strategic as you play.
The actual game also looks great, sturdy, well made and very colorful. I played with two of my neighbors and they loved it so much they said they would purchase one for themselves.

a game that needs some brain work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] my kids love the bloks game because it is actually not easy to win. First you have to work out a strategy not play the pieces randomly, and my kids are quite serious about this game, i think it is a good game to let them use their little brains.

Hours of Challenging Fun

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Blockus is a game that will keep you and your children busy for hours. This game makes you use your mind by utilizing different shapes and sizes. You must fit your size pieces onto the puzzle by only using the tip of one of your colors. It gets a lot harder than you think once the board starts filling up with other players pieces. This will have you using your brain and eyes so much. I really recommend this game for people with children. Its not a typical boring game for adults. It is loads of fun and really helps develop those lil' ones brains in a creative way!
