Received this today and was quite impressed. I've not always liked the barbie brand but it has genuinely good features, such as the cake icing function and the pieces that clip into the oven. I recommend as a busy toy for any child interested in baking.
Real oven feel with the ding sound is the best bit. Pieces are properly made and not flimsy. Kept my lil girl busy for a few hours. Imaginative plays. She really loves this.
Just received this product for play rate and review. My 5 year old daughter is over the moon. It's a lovely product. The doll is lovely and well built. The oven makes noises and you get other little baking goodies too. The buns are great as you get a little piping bag you can put water on the end and put it on the buns which reveal a pattern on top of.
My daughter loves this, and loves the little features like the fact that you can decorate the cakes with water, and that you can make the cakes rise in the oven. One of the better Barber sets that she has had.
My daughter who is 6 has not put her Barbie and baking set down since we got it for her last week. She loves ‘icing’ the cupcakes that is cleverly done by using water which you can do again and again.
This item has fully satisfied the needs to my daughter's needs. It keeps her going, and this item is not something she isngetting bored of. Love it 10/10
my daughter loved this Barbie. Somehow we end up with a lot of kitchen sets as they get played the longest. This one looks like just a Barbie with a kitchen range but comes with a loaf of bread and cupcakes. Both of which go into the oven and can be "dinged" into raised bread and fluffy cupcakes. Very nice touch! The piping bag that sits in a hole on the counter, which when filled with water wets the tip of the piping bag, which then paints really beautiful designs on each of the cupcakes- another very nice touch! This kept my daughter busy for the better part of an evening the day it arrived. There are also a lot of other little gadgets-an oven mitt, a bowl, spoon and spatula (which have doubtless been misplaced since!)
Barbie's apron could have been a lot bigger. it's easy to lose. I have the same issue with the tiny spoon and spatula. As they don't have any real use they tend to get lost almost instantly. It would be nice if they hooked on to something on the side of the kitchen range. Even though right now the little slots allow them to be held by Barbie etc there is no real place to reliably store them.
