Best Bang For Your Buck Soundbar System

Using the JPL Bar 5.1 with Epson laser projector and 100" diagonal 16:9 screen creates an immersive and pulse-pounding home theater experience. Detachable rear speakers provide an enveloping surround sound field complementing the center/front speakers and earth shaking subwoofer. The sound system shines best with a high-end source like blu-ray DVD, but still sounds decent with video feeds from my laptop or over-the-air digital stations.
Like some reviewers commented, the mid-range/vocals are not as prominent and require tuning down the base and increasing the volume, but this issue is inherent in the sound mixing of video content with loud background music and overpowering sound effects. Dialogue is still understandable, just not as pronounced as you would like. Overall the total sound package is exceptional especially the authoritative bass that can vibrate the room unless you tweak it down. In my opinion the JBL Bar 5.1 with detachable surround speakers is the best bang for your buck high-end system that will knock your socks-off. Don't hesitate; get yours now and start smiling.

Completely awesome

I made my purchase, because I have always love JBL speakers, and have many Bluetooth devices. These speakers were just what we needed for our home theater system, and having the detachable wireless surround sound speakers is completely awesome.

Awesome sound, some problem’s occur

Hello. I have bought this soundbar and it’s sound and bass is awesome. But in to the month of owning the JBL Bar 5.1, i had few problems with it. The whole problem is about connectivity issues. First it started with the knocking sounds from the subwoofer and wireless speakers cutting out, but I got that figured out. Now I cannot connect my phone to it whatsoever. Tried deleting it from the Bluetooth settings on the phone, tried few things, nothing works. Neither can I find any info on how to resolve my problem on internet. So now, I’m Waiting for customer service to reply now. With all of these problems in a month of owning, I’m questioning if more problems will occur further on. Would I recommend buying it? Maybe. The sound quality is beyond awesome, the bass from the subwoofer is great, the detachable speakers make it a lot more hustle free rather then normal surround speakers. But only in a month, I had few problems that took some of my free time away.

Great sound, but…

Sound is great, but, lots of problems with stable wireless connection between bar, sub and detachable speakers. Through a lot of research post setup it seems to have something to do with the Bluetooth frequency and 5ghz wifi interaction. There are supposed workarounds (shouldn’t be needed) like change wifi channels, direct to 2.4, etc. but if your router isn’t giving you those options easily and wired connection isn’t feasible at location etc. can be challenging. Frustrating and trying to resolve because it does sound great when stable.

JBL 5.1 sound bar dissapointment.

I have this about 2 weeks and I must say I'm a little disappointed with the sound quality. I always purchase JBL speakers for all personal applications and professional use also. The sound quality is not as warm as I expected. the subbase is adequate.I bought a Samsung sound bar with sub for my daughter, and I am very impressed with it'ssound quality. I paid more for the JBL 5.1. other than that, the system is a breeze to set up and operate once you download the complete users guide.
