If you have a dog, you need this!

Every dog owner needs this! It makes me feel much more comfortable in the evenings when I let our corgi outside to go potty. We live in coyote territory, so I liked to keep a close eye on him. I also love to bring this item camping with us, I'm able to let Scooter loose, but still see where he is at all times. It's so easy to clip on his collar. As a member of the Nite Ize Field Team, I received this product in exchange for my honest feedback and review of its performance. All opinions and words are my own.
Pros: Durable, Good fit for any collar, Small, Stylish

This thing is the greatest little light. I have a black dog and we live on a dark road. I know exactly where he is at all times,very bright. I even can tell when he poops cause it stays still for a minute lol

Doesn't stay lit

I have two of these. One for our Black Lab and the other for our Bernese Mountain Dog. After about two months of excellent use, neither one stays lit. And yes, I did replace the batteries. When either dog shakes, the light goes out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Many Uses, Great For Dogs

Just returned from RV camping trip on the Rogue River in Oregon. Pitch dark and time to walk the dog before bed. Although on a leash for safety, the 26 foot lead meant she was "out there somewhere" and not visible. With the SpotLit ball wobbling on her collar, I could tell where she was and if she stopped to take care of herself. In the past I had two dogs walking in the dark, and the bobbling, wobbling ball always let me keep track of them. I keep this in my Jeep Wrangler, and if ever I am stuck in the mountains at night, I will have a beacon for the Search and Rescue teams.
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Size/Fit

To change battery, does the unit unscrew, must it be pried apart, does one side versus the other open, is it the entire side of the unit, or a smaller section that comes off? And ... if it's unscrew -- how to do that - seems not to move; if it's pry, what object to do that do you suggest? Help!< p>Nite Ize Response: To change the batteries in the SpotLit you will need to pry the back half of the plastic off at the point where it meets the stainless steel ring. You can do this with your fingernail or a small tool. Once you get the back off, just pop out the battery module and replace the batteries. Hope this helps. awesome product. I hung it from my fishing pole so runners on the beach don't run over my rod like they did in the past. Worked great! The blinking mode even go the attention of this girl walking down the beach texting and not paying attention to her path! Can figure out all kinds of uses including marking the edges of the cliff when fishing from a high point, clipping to kids belt loops in the dark, etc. etc. Didn't get a 5 rating (yet) as the stainless hook is kind of thick and might be a bit heavier duty than needed for this product. found it a bit difficult to clip to certain items. also never got a chance to change the battery so unsure on the ease or diffculty. as stated before... yet.

Good until we lost it

This product worked exactly how it should. At night, we were able to see our dog easily when the light was turned on. However, we let her run off leash and when we got back, the LED part had separated from the carabiner. We weren't able to use the light anymore which is really disappointing.

I am stationed in Afghanistan and was excited about receiving this product for night operations. It arrived and doesn't work at all. Very disappointed after waiting two weeks to get it. Not to mention the difficulties of trying to replace it or get support from here.
