Gear Ties are one of the best solutions I’ve found

Simple, easy way to keep your cords tidy and untangled. I prefer the brightly colored Gear Ties for their easy visibility on cords that I travel with and which are wrapped and unwrapped frequently; the darker ties I use with cords that are pretty stationary and which I still want to be neat and unobtrusive.

These are basically an industial version of a bread bag twist tie. Very handy when you need a temporary attactment or to bind up a cord. I used to use zip ties but theh are only good for one use.
