When I first filled it with air, I did not add enough and was not high enough for my desk. But I added more air, and everything is great. The wheels are a little stiff but this helps me work my core when reaching for the printer. I hope to furnish our whole office with these.

After a particularly long project, where I was sitting in my old chair for about 18 straight hours, my back aching and my eyes swimming, I was online perusing the internet for a better seating option. This was how I came to buy this chair. It arrived very quickly. It was very easy to assemble. It is very comfortable. There is only one small warning I would issue. Very short people should beware. I'm 5'4" and I'm almost too tall for the chair. Anatomically, you want your knees and hips on the same level. To get my hips down to the level of my knees I had to deflate the ball quite a bit; which in turn makes the ball softer as well as smaller. So it's doable, but I wouldn't recommend it to people much shorter than myself.
This is a great tool for me in my home office, it rolls well, is stable, comfortable, and allows me to be more active at my desk job. The ball inflates and stays inflated, you may have to pump it up a bit more in the first few days after first use. Great purchase, very glad I bought.
First - I'm very short. The chair adjusts for height by inflating the ball. I achieved a perfect fit allowing my feet to be flat on the floor. Second, the cushioning of the ball plus the fact I can now sit properly prevents me from sitting back on my lower spine, has eased my back pain.

Excellent Chair but One Major Problem

This is an excellent chair for keeping the spine and core muscles in good health. I had to get this since I sit all day long at my computer and this really helps my back and posture. However, a major problem is the off-gassing of the PVC ball. I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this in the reviews. The smell was overwhelming to me. I set it outside for a day or two and I also have really great air purifier that kept near it for days and it still smells really bad. PVC does off-gas and most likely has phthalates, highly toxic chemicals. A big hunk of vinyl is not something you want to be sitting on all day, especially if you're pregnant. But there is a solution. I wrapped the ball in a BabeSafe mattress cover which blocks the off-gassing. I don't sell these, just want to be clear on that. Google it and you'll find online stores that sell them - about $30. It's a thick sheet of polyethylene plastic and you can also find this at hardware store but make sure it's really pure polyethylene and not another type of plastic. I don't fault Gaiam - I'm a big fan of Gaiam. These stability balls are not made any other way, as far as I know. I have other stability balls that I use for exercise that I haven't wrapped since I'm on those for short periods of time. But I wrapped the ball in this chair since I'm on it all day. Now that it's wrapped, there's no smell. I highly recommend this chair, it's really a great chair, but think people should know about the off-gassing.
Instantly liked the comfort, no more leg and back paint after sitting at my desk, whether it is for a few minutes or all day. Very simple to put together and light weight. Takes a few days to get the air pressure where you want, but very easy to do. Now trying to get my employer to provide me one at work.
I started by just sitting on a physio ball and it was great, but didn't have much mobility or stability. We had purchased our first ball chair a few years back for an employee with a back problem and she loved it so we just purchased 2 more. using this chair, eliminated a lot of the stiffness I was experiencing in a traditional office chair. I highly recommend this chair for anyone who sits at work for long periods of time.
