Didn't think this would be a winner, but it is. The only caveats are you have to think before sitting, unlike a chair, and place your body in the correct position before sitting.. The other is that I find it difficult to know if I have the right amount of firmness to the ball and feel that it is sometimes a guessing game. But, i am at the computer sometimes 12 hours a day and do not have the numbness in my butt that came with sitting on a high-priced office chair; the backs of my thighs do not hurt or tingle as there is no edge of a chair to exert pressure. One is forced to maintain good posture, great for the core, and because I have to sit up straight, I no longerr find my shoulders scruched up around my ears which eliminates the tension in neck and shoulder muscles. Takes a bit getting used to, but well worth it!

I purchesed this chair because I spend 8+ hours each day sitting at my desk working on my computer. By the end of the day, I'm usually very sore due to inactivity, but the balance ball chair has changed all of that. I can sit and bounce, I can sit on the edge and balance or I can sit all the way back and still feel good. This chair has improved my sitting posture and also is fun!
