I bought this chair to help me further develop my abs, but it hurt my low back after about 20 minutes. I thought it was me, so my friend (who has strong abs!) sat on it for a while and it hurt her lumbar also. It was a huge disappointment for me. The chair now sits in the corner of a room.
I was a little skeptical about the quality of this chair when I first received it, but after assembly, it feels pretty solid. So far I'm happy with the purchase. However, after inflating the ball to a point where it felt very firm, it didn't quite get to the 52cm diameter as advertised; closer to 48cm maybe. Not a deal breaker, but one should probably be aware of this.

Having the balance ball chair enables me to spend more time at my computer as it keeps me very comfortable. Recommended it to a friend who was visiting and tried it out, then she ordered one also and loves hers.

I purchased the balance ball chair about a year ago, after mildly straining my lower back, and I noticed that my ergonomically correct office chair was perpetuated that spasming not in my lower back, where my home balance ball was providing relief. The balance ball chair makes you sit up straight with your pelvis tilted slightly back. Although it can feel a little poised to keep your posture like this for hours, eventually, at least for me, it becomes a more natural way to sit. My core and back feel strong. The chair just makes you want to strech and bounce to take 5 for yourself. I have a balance ball chair for home and work office. My job requires alot of sitting, and am writing a thesis-requires alot of sitting. No other chair will do for me!

I purchased this chair because I was having lower back pain while sitting in my large soft comfy office chair at my desk while at the office. My posture was terrible and I was looking for something to help. I'd never go back! At first I continued having back pain but that went away fairly quickly. I sit in it all day and don't ever think about my old chair!
This chair is great for sitting for an hour or two. It would not be comfortable for many people if used for longer periods. The chair is also good for select exercises.

This chair is excellent for me: I am 5' 4" tall and weigh approximately 130 lbs; and the charcoal gray ball fits in well with our office decor. The chair was not good for my 5' 9" and taller co-workers because it was not adequate for their longer legs. The chair is not constructed well enough for my heavier co-workers. I think the hollow plastic frame construction is flimsy and will be the first component of the chair to break. What is the weight rating for the chair frame anyway? If it were red, green and white, the style would be suitable for furnishing a Little Tykes playhouse. This chair could be improved by having a more substantial and professional looking frame, lumbar support, and wheels, and by offering some forms of adjusting the chair for persons of different heights. I am glad I am my size, because it is perfect for me, and very comfortable.
