No more slouching!

I bought this chair because I have a BAD habit of slouching while working on my computer. I've looked at this chair for years and always thought it would be nice to have...well, i don't know why I waited so long. This chair is super comfortable, makes me sit up straight, looks good...AND I can do exercises while watching my webinars online! Thank you Gaiam!!!

Not for a Desk But Perfect for Me!

I love this chair! It feeds my spirit with its beauty and my body with its nature. If you inflate the ball properly (which I did easily with the included pump), it fit me perfectly for keeping good posture and doing energizing stretching exercises. I've seen other reviews saying that some are disappointed that it didn't work for them to use at a desk. I didn't buy mine for that purpose, so I'm very satisfied. And if you look at the picture, you can see that the height isn't optimal for use at a desk unless you're just reading, not typing. The chair might have been nice in wood, but then it'd probably lose its ease of movement. I like it as a hand-hold when doing standing exercises, too. It can be rolled on casters or the casters can be easily fixed for non-movement. My rating is 4.5 but couldn't color half a star! Thanks, Gaiam!

Never if you're tall

Although the balance ball chair is said to be suitable for those who are 5' 11" and shorter, beware if you are at the high end of the range. Your knees will be higher than your backside; your spine will soon ache; you will be too low to use your computer keyboard comfortably. For anyone trying this chair, assembly is easy and the wheels can be locked for greater stability.

Not what I hoped for

I am female 50 5'6" 145 lbs. I have been using the chair for 6 weeks with an average of 9 hours a day. I read a review that said they had scoliosis and it helped. I am always looking for something to help with that issue. The first couple of weeks my back was sore and sometimes my tail bone was too. I thought after using it for a while my core would be strengthened and the pain would go. Unfortunately it has just gotten worse. I have a double spinal curve Thoracic and Lumbar so for me the chair did not work well. I also would suggest some type of cloth cover for the ball. I find that it does cause me to perspire that can be pretty uncomfortable. If you have a normal spine I think it might work out better for you.

NOT A ONE SIZE FITS ALL CHAIR!!!!!

I very seldom give a poor review to anything and in all honest the product itself it EXCELLENT, however the size and description are NOT. The product description claims that this will fit someone 5'- 5'11" and that is NOT TRUE. I am not a petite woman at 5'7" and my feet dangle 6 inches off the floor when seated in the chair!! The ball did not sit in the base as deep as all of the product photos, it sits just on top of the chair base. The not so helpful customer service rep (she is in the wrong line of work btw) told me that I must not have inflated the ball all the way! I assured her it was fully inflated (i'm not an idiot lady) and furthmore, inflating the ball more would only make the ball bigger and thus 7inches from the floor. She also informed me that the boxes are pack with only one size (55cm) so I couldn't have received the larger size by mistake. Okay, so you need to correct your product description then. The directions tell you to delate the ball until you are seated at a 90 degree angle...after all this is an ergonomically correct chair. However when I did that, the ball was too deflated to be used as a balance ball. My suggestion, because this is such a great product, is to offer it in 52cm, 55cm and so on. A 55cm balance ball is the correct size for my height if it is off the base but put it on top of a 6+ inch base and it is no longer the correct size. I don't recommend this chair to anyone under 5'11" unless you never intend to use the ball off of the chairbase and don't mind it half inflated. The product is otherwise easy to assemble but the chair back is not a lumbar support and the directions state not meant to be leaned on.

I so liked my BalanceBall chair that I immediately ordered a second one to use at work. They are comfortable, light and easy to move and great for tired backs! Even the colors are refreshing.

Really enjoying my chair

I got this for my desk at my office. I have to spend long hours sitting at a computer several days a week. This caused me a great deal of back pain. This chair has really helped alot. My back pain is gone. And surprisingly is is very comfortable. I have always preferred sitting crossed legged on the floor over a chair any day but with the ball chair I am very comfortable.
