I own a cattle ranch and was wanting something stationary for my truck that can work with the walkie talkie's my employees have. The MXT115 works perfectly. I haven't had any issues with transmitting or receiving with the walkies. The MicroMobile allows me to communicate with my guys from a pretty good distance away. There is no reason for me to own a CB anymore.
Bought the 115 for size purposes... great radio!! Solid piece of gear and well worth the money.... I’m getting another for my son and the MXT400 for me for longer ranges.... the bigger radio will allow me to hit the repeaters further away... great job Midland!
Setup very nicely in small opening in lower console of truck. Nice construction. Screen a bit small for my aging eyes but Midland coming out with same size micro with full mic controls. That’s the ticket for truck. This one to go into house for backup comms.
Will use this unit in our truck to communicate with others traveling with us on camping trips. The small size is nice but the controls are a bit hard to see. The Monitor/Scan button is also used as a Enter/Confirm key for Menu functions. I wish that button was marked with its Enter/Confirm purpose.
Bought this so that my son and I could communicate during an off road camping trip. Could not have worked out better. For the size and price of the unit it is very heavy in a good way. Doesn’t feel cheap at all.
Awesome radio. I have used it in obstructed environments in hill country and have gotten ranges of over 10 mi with big hills, trees and rocks in the way. If I’m using the repeater channels, I can get even bigger distances (make sure you get permission to use the towers!). We now have three different trucks in our weekend 4×4 group that use these radios now and we won’t be going back to CBs ever again. Absolute gamechanger. Works awesome with our GXT handhelds too.
