We use our for the UTV … works great in the mountains.. and wooden hillsides too…. This is in Tennessee and Kentucky hills… at one time we were 8 miles apart and still the radio work great…. Very reliable and dependable too… there 16 riders in our group …. Thank you midland radio…. Keep up the good work!!

Simple GMRS pre-programmed transceiver. Pretty simple to use, however it needs more pre-programmed channels or have the capacity for programming software, but that is not possible with this radio.

Great Radio! I was totally surprised of what 16 watts radio can do. I have to admit there is a learning curve. Be sure to read, and save the manual! You will need it if your planning to use CTCSS / DCS codes. The Squelch, Power, an Repeater codes on the screen of the radio should be improved. Squelch two letters code looks like the number 59. However I was able to make connection with my local repeater 40 miles away.

This radio was easy to install and easy to program the privacy codes into. It reaches the local repeater that is about 15 miles away with the Midland low profile stealth antenna. It was a super good price also.
