I started off with 2 Mx 115 radios and I have been so satisfied with there quality and performance that I now have 6 of them. The sound and range is awesome for my part of the country. I live in very hilly area and they will talk 10 miles easily. Wry satisfied and would definitely buy more.

Great Range

I bought one of these to add to my existing MXT400s that we have for general camping/off road and E-Prep communication. The MXT400s have the power to send the signals through our residential area full of hills and valleys, I went out 4+ miles and even in most of the blind zones in the far valleys I was getting only minor static in the background of the transmissions with the 2.1DB antenna. Could probably get further with the 6DB antenna. With the GXT handsets I have been getting about 1.5 to 2 miles. 3X the power with more than 2x the range was great. This will help me keep in contact with the other Area E-Prep coordinators in the area with FRS or GMRS units at distances. The speaker on this unit seems to be better than on the MXT400. I bought external speakers for those and it helps the clarity greatly.
