My first outing using the Micromobile system absolutely blew me away. Being able to keep constant communication with those in the group who used walkies was a major plus. The clarity and range of the GMRS is very impressive. I'm used to using CB in groups, and constantly messing with squelch and low range is one of the biggest turn offs. The GMRS systems from Midland have definitely gained priority for comms on our outings.

Awesome range

This is my first GMRS radio. I tested this in urban setup although intent is for overlanding. So my review is partial but so far I love it. I was able to communicate with my X-Talker 71V crisp and clear over an acceptable range of 6-8 miles. Keep in mind this was in a complete urban setup with lot's of building, trees and other obstacles, so line of sight was pretty dense. I think this micro mobile pairs very well with the X-Talkers. It's compact enough to fit in my Outback I'm waiting to use it for the primary purpose (overlanding/camping). I'm pretty confident it will like a charm.

I am new to gmrs radios. I got my license and joined a repeater club here in Georgia. I am very impressed I am able to hit a repeater about 80 miles away. Granted the repeater sets in the mountains but still great coverage. With this as a base at the house with the antenna about 15 foot in the air I am able to reach out to a mobile right at 7 miles in a suburban environment. Overall I am very impressed with this little unit.
