Strong Chemical Odor

I've used Gaiam yoga mats for many years and when I decided to replace my 8+ year old mat, I purchased the Sundial Layers. The texture is nice and the stickiness is very good however, I could not get past the strong chemical odor that continually off-gassed from this product. I aired it out for 2 weeks and washed it with yoga mat cleaner but every time I did floor exercises, I could smell the odor which gave me a headache. Unfortunately I had to return it for a refund as I could not make it work for me. Very disappointed. :(

This mat is borderline dangerous. My first down dog had my hands slipping, no sweat. I got this as a mother's day gift, and was so excited because it's beautiful. But seriously, you will slide. All over.

I love this for at home. I have another gaiam mat for hot yoga which is hard for me to keep clean and home the animal interruptions, anyways this mat is perfect replacement /to add for at home practice really great in the knees! Would recommend or buy in more colors!
