Great, BUT...

I just installed a new hardwood floor in my home. When this chair came, as I was putting in the castors, I noticed that they were ROUGH and SHARP!!! Hurt my fingers!! The castors on the leather chair currently serving my desk are the same design, but no sharp edges. I had my contractor/helper person check the castors out, and he is in the process of sanding down the offending sharp edges, before we put them into the base. Without having done so, my new floors would have been irrecoverably damaged by my weight on the castors, cutting into the floor. I would hope that GAIAM and the manufacturers would work together to offer better quality, more well-finished components, that will not harm people's homes. I expected better. Chair is still not assembled, because I am still waiting for the sanding to be complete before it is put together, and first used. Quality control!!!! The edges are sharp enough to cut my hand, rolling over it. I think even over a rug it would cut the fibers, and damage the carpet. Hopefully my castors were the exception, and others don't have this problem. But beware! Had I just pushed them in and started using the chair, I would have been one unhappy camper, had my new floor been irreparably damaged...

I knew about these chairs but then got a bee in my bonnet to buy them for my coworkers and myself, to help promote mindful movement in our office. Since I purchased them at Christmas time, we've all loved our chairs and are feeling very different. I go home in the evenings with less shoulder stress and a high awareness of how my posture feels. I think it's made a difference in how I carry my body when I stand and walk around, too. If you're on the fence about this, just jump over and buy it!!

There are a lot of things I love about this chair. Firstly, I love its small profile. It barely takes up any space, which is great when your "office" is also your living room. I had never sat on a balance ball before, so I was a little timid about popping it even though I'm way under the weight limit, but it has been totally fine. I also like that the balance ball can be removed and used separately. When sitting on it for longer than a few minutes, I definitely feel my back muscles starting to work! The reason I gave it 3 stars for quality is because the plastic does seem kind of cheap. I don't feel like the chair will break though. As an aside, I didn't realize the wheel locks were engaged for the first few weeks I had it, so I thought it didn't roll on my carpet very well. After changing that, the chair moved much better. I'm not sure why I just assumed they'd be unlocked.

After 8 a day in an expensive office chair I would go home with back and leg pain, after purchasing a Gaiam ball chair I have relevied the back and leg pain plus my core has tightend up and my posture is better. Since my purchase two of my co-workers have ordered the gaiam ball chair and they love it. Thanx Gaiam

I purchased this chair because I always have back pain. This chair helps me keep my posture and has helped me a lot relieving my back pain. And besides, its sooooo cute. Everybody in my office likes it and are thinking of buying one for themselves.

I purchased this chair to replace another ergonomic chair I needed to repad after many years of use. Needless to say, the other chair is now obsolete. This is the most comfortable chair I have ever spent 8-10 hours in front of my computer on. My husband loves it also. We are cnsidering buying a few extra for our home offices and our workplaces.
