A wonderful piece of equipment helping me to keep my core strong as I sit at work each day. Look out, though. The casters are a bit on the cheap side and they lock by themselves. I am going to replace mine, to keep the chair mobile when I need it and to lock when I use it to revitalize with some of the terrific exercises included in the "how to use" book. All in all, a great thing which I am glad I bought.

I purchased this chair as I have back pain sitting on most chairs and thought this would be great for sitting at my desk. Unfortunately, the ball that comes with it is much too large for someone 5'2" tall....my feet didn't reach the floor! I couldn't tolerate less air as is suggested as I need a very firm foundation. I just purchased a 15" ball and which is perfect. An 18" one would probably be more perfect but I haven't found one.
I absolutely love this chair. I have been trying to get one for over a year at work, and now that I have one I am excited. It keeps my posture straight, and I love the different exercises I can do to strengthen my core.

I love this chair! I am a quilter and sit at my machine for hours at a time. My back is no longer sore when I'm done. It's great - I highly recommend it!
It's nice. Different. I haven't used it long enough to know for sure. Although it's a bit short for my desk, it does allow me to fit a bigger ball. I like that it helps me engage my abdominal muscles more to support my posture. It doesn't feel comfortable using the back to lean against though. So I just sit on the ball the whole time. It will take some getting used to. I'm hoping it will help my low back pain over time from the traditional office chair.

I'm a writer and spend lots of hours at the computer. I need to balance all this sitting with exercise. The balance ball chair actually helps me - while I'm at work. I can shift my position to stretch my legs. It's great to kneel on the ball with one knee and use a hand weight in the opposite arm (while waiting for printer). It gently reminds me to sit with my feet firmly on the floor in front of me and keep my shoulders back and lower back slightly arched. I love my chair. Thanks Gaiam

I do like the impact this is having on my posture at work. I'm pretty comfortable and definitely sitting up straighter with less stress. I'm sure this is helping and will continue to make sitting at the computer all day much more bearable. I feel more alert and energetic--like I'm doing something good for myself and strengthening my core. The only downside for me is that blowing up the ball is difficult (for me). Once done, however, it seems to hold the air pretty well. Was worried it would be too low, but it's good for me at 5'6" tall at a 28.5" desk height.

BalanceBall Chair Review

I have used the BalanceBall Chair for nearly two years and love it! I prefer this chair over the much more expensive chairs I have owned in the past. The chair has helped to relieve the pain associated with my spinal subluxations. The chair also helped to improve my posture and core body strength. Unfortunately, the half-round metal bar that holds the ball in place broke where the bar is threaded. I have emailed Gaiam and have requested a replacement part.
