This chair is absolutely a great idea!! I'm 5'8'' and I have an average size desk. This chair is so short my arms are straight out to type on my keyboard. My legs are not at a 90 degree angle, which is not helping my back or my neck. My suggestion is a wider base, allowing for a bigger ball which would make it taller. Unfortunately, this is a gift, so I cannot return it.

I asked for this chair for Christmas and was SO excited to receive it. When I set it up in my office I couldn't believe how SHORT this chair is! If I roll up to my desk, I have to reach up to rest my elbows or write. I am 5'5" so I am not tall. Just disappointed. Wish they had some way to adjust this.
i bought this chair back in the spring and the metal bar broke about 6 months later. I am under 200lbs and used it daily at my desk. Disappointed for sure.

I went through two of these chairs in one year. The first one the metal bar broke that goes accross the chair to hold the ball in place the second one the plastic welding on the wheels were so poorly constructed the wheels point in at an angle so the more you move around the worse the wheels bend in. I am researched other ball chairs and found another one I purchased which the quality is 100 times better. I like to order from Gaiam, but wish they stood behind their products.

I purchased the classic balance ball chair having high hopes that I would love it - i wanted to love it!! But alas, after using it for a while I can report that the classic balance ball chair doesn't slide very well at my office desk, and the wheels are constantly locking on their own. Additionally the front bar broke, I got a replacement, but eventually had to have a friend who's a welder reinforce the part that bends into the chair so it wouldn't break anymore. AND to top it off, despite being well under the weight limit of the chair, the plastic has bent in on the sides and had created a sharp edge that now punctured my ball. Maybe I had the bad manufactured chair, but maybe not. I really want to try the custom fit balance ball chair as it's medal for the stand and also has five wheels, which I'm hoping would slide better... but I also don't want to spend another $75 on a chair. Ugg. Gaiam, what a disappointment after loving so many of your other products.
I was torn on whether or not this chair would actually be comfortable enough to sit on all day as I work. I'm glad I took the chance and got one- I LOVE it. If you're on the fence, get one. I swear I'm more productive because of it, my back pain is totally gone, it forces me to sit properly and it's very comfortable. Best chair ever!

bought my first one years ago, then needed a replacement ball (don't ask, not products' fault) and got a purple one! Yay!...Ball has to inflated to specified size...FOLLOW the directions! I have seen the reviews of a ball too small, and wish I could ask if yall measured it?! One must measure to make sure the ball is properly inflated!
