I am so happy I bought this chair last month. I have a job were I'm working in claims up to ten hours a day. All that sitting is hard on your lower back. In a week, I could tell a difference, and now after a month with this chair it's pain-free. Wish I had found this sooner !
Chair did not work for me. Wheels do not roll easily and I kept hitting my ankles on the base when trying to move. I'm having much better success sitting on a regular balance ball.
I love this chair! I started a new job that allows me to work from home 1 day per week. My old desk chair was making my back hurt so bad I could barely stand it. I purchased this chair and my back no longer hurts!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have the same problems as reviewer web1 and I'm concerned that one day the chair will break while I'm sitting on it. The wheels constantly lock and make moving about frustrating. I also noticed, when I turned the chair over, that the frame around the casters is caving in. I weigh 130 pounds, which is hardly obese. I also don't find that it significantly helps my posture though the give of the ball does make sitting for long periods of time a little more comfortable than a standard chair.

I am a graphic designer and writer, and sit at the computer all day. I have tried every kind of ergonomic chair and using a large balance ball without the chair. I almost always have leg, back and neck pain. I had great hopes for the Balance Ball Chair. After receiving it (and spending nearly an hour with a smart friend putting it together -- looks like it should be easy, doesn't it?) it was much too low for a standard 29" desk. Then I ordered the extenders. Note: unless you have a very low tabletop, order the extenders the first time. I've sat in this chair for two days now and my back and neck really hurt, but at least the pressure is off my thighs. I'm going to keep trying, but right now I'm a bit bummed out.

I'm 5'3" and the chair is the perfect height. Might not work for someone taller--they would need the adjustable chair. Definitely notice posture improvement. Its also comfortable to kneel on while quasi-standing.
I have been using the balance ball chair as my office chair for three years. I won't use a regular office chair again. I've actually bought two only because I broke the stability bar and couldn't find anywhere to replace it. Highly recommend this chair. My posture is now fantastic and my lower back pain is gone.
