I had never sat so much in my life until I took this position....after 3 years my sciatica had me near tears most days.... after just a few days I could tell a difference and now after 3 weeks on it.... it has nearly calmed all the way.... well worth it!!!
I bought this as a gift for my daughter she works at a computer all day and has back pain. She has used this a little over a week and does notice a difference. She also finds the exercise suggestions are helpful
I have been thinking about getting a new office chair for a long time. I thought of just using a ball, but they are not good for moving around easily. I bought the ball because I needed something that doesn't pinch my sciatic nerve and allows me to keep my muscles stronger. I love the ball. Wish I would have bought it sooner! This balance ball chair is great! I was having pain in my legs while sitting at my desk. None of the conventional ergonomic chairs brought any relief, but the GAIAM balance ball chair has eliminated the problem completely. I highly recommend it and plan on purchasing more for my employees.
This chair was a gift for my adult son. He has an office job and complained about his back. I've had the chair for 2 years, purchased 4 more for a department contest, and have seen an improvement in the strength of my core. Co-workers have purchased the chair as well!
I have had my Balance Ball Chair for 2 and 1/2 years now and I can't imagine life before I had it! At the time that I purchased it, I was having some dull pain in my hips and hip flexors. A trainer had suggested getting a chair that would help with my posture at work. I work at a call center and my job requires me to sit in front of a computer for 8 hours straight. When I sit in normal office chairs I cannot seem to sit appropriately with both feet flat on the floor and straight spine. I always feel the need to cross my legs or even worse sit on one or both of my feet/legs in an "indian style" position. The Balance Ball Chair helps with that! You can still cross one leg under the other which I find myself doing sometimes, but I have certainly never tried crossing both legs and sitting "indian style" on it!! I have not had hip problems since purchasing the chair, and now I am considering buying one for home since I am now finding myself studying more at home recently!! I would highly recommend this chair to anyone who has to sit for extended amounts of time. My co-workers find it intimidating and think that they will fall off, but it is very difficult to fall off of this chair. I even find that I can do some back/hip exercises and stretches while sitting on the ball at my desk and yes, even sometimes while talking on the phone!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Please be aware that the size of the ball is actually 17" only and not the 22" as advertised. 22" is when it includes the base so it seats very low and cannot be used against a normal working desk, only as an exercise chair.
