5 stars for the intention and purpose of the chair. 2 stars deducted due to (A) the nozzle for the included pump not staying in place when inflating the ball. (B) the ball when inflated is measuring 45cm vs 52cm per item description (C) Small tear in the outer layer of the ball .I purchased the Gaiam Balance ball chair from The Sports Authority for a Christmas gift. After finally getting the ball inflated it appears to be smaller than advertised and does not fit in the chair as depicted - there is about a 2 inch gap between the ball and the front bar. The size discrepancy makes the chair too low for me to use with the desk in my home office.
I was having circulation problems with numbness in my extremities from sitting so much. Now that I've been using the chair, I've had immediate relief and pressure from my back and nerves and it seems to be calming down. My co-workers are all looking at purchasing one for themselves now and instantly like the relief when they try my chair!
I used to use a ball alone. So low. This is perfect solution

I don't know where to begin. Obviously, Gaiam uses a 3rd party manufacturer for ball chairs and they slap a sticker on the ball and box and ship it out. Don't get me wrong, I don't really have a problem with that, what I do have a problem with is the COMPLETE lack of quality in what I received. First, I ordered a pump for $6, because my mistake, it comes with one! While I would normally not mind the accidental waste of $6, I do mind that one of them clearly had been assembled and used...and worse yet, to ensure it was included with my shipment (rather then ship it with the separate leg extenders????), someone LITERALLY TORE A HOLE IN THE BOX to shove the extra pump in!!! My God, and if you think that's awful, that was just the beginning. Long story short, it took me over an hour to put the chair together because NONE OF THE HOLES WERE FULLY DRILLED OUT! Yes, apparently this happens, Google confirmed I wasn't crazy, but that the holes for the back to be screwed in, and that goofy bar that sits in front of the ball were 100% blocked and not drilled out. Now, I do own a drill, and luckily, the appropriate bit sizes, but this is ridiculous that I had to machine my own parts to assemble the chair! If this is the standard of quality to which Gaiam attaches theirr name, I promise I won't ever be purchasing another item. I want everyone to know exactly the kind of inferior product that is sold for luxury brand prices! Unacceptable.
I was wanting to use this as a desk chair at work. the ball was too small. i am debating returning the item. Can you let me know if I can just exchange the ball for a larger one. Kathy Castellano

I purchased the Classic Balance Ball Chair and Balance Disc in April for use in my office. I use them throughout the day and have noticed not only an improvement in posture, but reduced lower back pain. Due to a car accident more than 10 years ago, I couldn't exercise. After using these tools at work for six weeks, I began walking on a near daily basis. Today, I walked more than three miles. I'm thrilled, to say the least!
