I would highly recommend this chair for anyone over 5' 3". I am 5' 3" and can only touch the floor with my toes when on the ball, but I don't mind and get an extra calf workout out of the deal. I have sat on a ball at my desk for 2 years now and has been the best "chair" I have ever used. This chair puts your spine in perfect alignment and reduces stresses on your neck, shoulders, upper and lower back. Just make sure you are close enough to your keyboard so that your elbows remain at your sides. The ball chair is beneficial over just a ball as it prevents the ball from rolling away when you stand up and allows you to change direction much easier. I moved the locking casters to the rear to prevent accidental locking. The casters roll best on a hard smooth surface. They are not going to move on carpet of any kind. This physical therapist gives this chair 2 thumbs up!

I've noticed a huge difference with my posture since bringing this chair to work. I used to slouch a lot, but this chair has helped to correct my posture and strengthen my core.

I have lower back pain, as well as neck pain. Sitting on the ball has helped tremendously. I have a 36" inseem and wear heels, and the ball size was perfect (had to let some air out actually).

This is the most popular chair in my home! I bought it for myself for work, and when I left my job I brought the chair home to use at my kitchen table. Everyone loves sitting in it and comments how comfortable it is. It drastically reduced chronic back pain for me, and reduced thigh spread for the two years I was an office worker. I just ordered a second ball as a gift... a request from the recipient. A couple of notes... my chair came with the green ball, which was too small for my 5'8" body. Easy enough to swap it out for another ball. The gift chair came with the blue/pool ball, which was the perfect size. Next, my daughter was into sitting on the chair backwards, and she fell off a bunch of times. So I would strongly urge owners of this ball chair to ensure others do not sit on the chair backwards, as it is not as stable when used incorrectly. Lastly, when I used it at my desk, which was often shared by older folk (I was a church secretary) I always locked the wheels to provide more stability, but as it is really easy to accidentally unlock the wheels, I also used rubber bands to ensure the wheels remained locked. If you are on the fence, I say buy it! You won't regret your purchase!

I am so pleased with my chair! Most of all I am so pleased with the customer service at Gaiam. I have purchased Gaiam products before, but this was my first direct purchase from the company. I love the chair, my co-workers love the chair, even my boss loves the chair!!! Assembly was a breeze, my posture has improved over the past few weeks, and it's a constant inspiration for conversation with clients and co-workers! I would highly recommend this product to any office-dweller. You won't be sorry. The black base combined with the dusty-plum colored ball is a perfect fit in my office. Very sturdy construction.
