Fellowes makes best home shredders

Have used other brands that quickly wore out or easily malfunctioned. Fellowes W11C has been working consistently well for >1 year. Does not overheat or jam easily, unless you load too much paper at one pass. Can do a lot off shredding at one time without problems. I oil it regularly with Fellowes lubricant. Only issue common to al shredders is that the bin tends to fill up in a peaked mound, and I have to take the top off and press the pile down often when it gets about two-thirds full. I use a wastebasket plastic bag in it. I like the fact that it continues to run for a couple of seconds after the last feed to clear the cutters, unlike other shredders that stop immediately once the trip switch closes. I will stick to Fellowes shredders from now on.
I just bought this shredder and did not realize I had to take the top off to empty it, but I must have the 2nd generation one, as mine has a handle! I love the handle. I also put a kitchen trash bag in there so I don't have to worry about getting all the pieces of paper out. It shreds great and the noise level is low. I also like the location of the buttons and the safety feature as well. There isn't a way to tell when it's full, so maybe they can figure out a way to add a light to it. I wanted an inexpensive shredder and for what I paid, I feel like I got an excellent products. Also, the Fellow's brand is very durable.
This is our second Fellows shredder. We have been extremely happy with the first one and so far are very pleased with the second purchase.
My only complaint is that it is not as easy to remove the motor mechanism and replace it when emptying it as the first shredder was. I believe that the company needs to review the this design. Th first shredder we had was much easier to preform this task than this one is.

This shredder works well. I never have had a jam and it will shred light staples and credit cards. It has a large basket. I would recommend this for home and small office.
Pros: Quality Construction, Jam Resistance, Secure Cut Size, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Sheet Capacity
This was a replacement for home use.I was pleasantly surprised to find that you can still find a quality product at an affordable price! My only regret is that I did'nt get a larger capacity basket.I have had my shredder for just about a year and it still works just as good as when I purchased it. If you need a shredder for your home/home office you can't go wrong with this one.
Pros: Quality Construction, Jam Resistance, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size, Mess Reduction, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Sheet Capacity
I have no problems as of yet with my shredder. My only complant is you need to lift up top piece to see when container is full. Also It makes a lot of noise when shredding.
Pros: Quality Construction, Jam Resistance, Safety Features, Mess Reduction, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Sheet Capacity, Service Guarantee, Warranty
The trigger mechanism in the feed slot was tough to set off with just a piece of paper. Once it broke I had to resort to turning it on when I want to shred, and manually turning it off when I am finished. I like it better now.
