Much Improved!

We had several oval water pitchers in the past, but always had problems with the lids falling off. This round design eliminates this, and fits into the refrigerator better too.
It's only drawback is the hollow area for the meter, as it collects lime buildup which becomes moldy with time.

Filters do not last. I have to replace it, every two weeks. I’m not getting 40 gallons, according to the chart and how it tests, as it says I should. Way too expensive to continue with this system.

Total Dissolved Solids Meter - TDS
on September 3, 2021

Length of ownership:1 month
Two months ago, I purchased a 10 Cup Ready-Pour Round Water Pitcher from a military exchange (department store). After using the product for a month, the battery compartment for the Total Dissolved Solids Meter Tester developed rust on the battery and the battery holder. The water also had a lemon taste even though I change the filter. I should have purchased the Brita Grand Water Pitcher much cheaper in cost.

Best tasting water ever!

I replaced my old water filter system with the Zero Water and what a difference! It is the best tasting water ever and I have stopped buying bottle water and use Zero water instead. SO worth the cost and I love that I can test my water. My current tap water rates at 360 and it literally goes to ooo with the Zero Water Filter. Great product!

Costly and Inefficient

I purchased one of these at the recommendation of my father. Boy was he wrong. Primarily, the frequency with which the filter needs replacement makes it unjustifiably expensive. I drink less than half a gallon of water a day. The quality of this water straight out of the sink sits perfectly center in the normal TDS range. According to the website, that means I should replace this filter once every six weeks. More trouble than it's worth. By eight weeks, the water tastes strongly of citrus. I would recommend against buying any Zero Water product, as you will receive well-filtered water for a very short period of time before they want more of your money. Now, though my TDS starts at 125 from the sink, the filter turns it into over 300. Does the opposite of what's advertised in a very short time frame.

Due to the amount of variables involved we try and stay away from using time to determine filter life, instead we use gallons, a more constant form of measurement. Filter life is based solely off of the quality of the water being filtered. The higher the tap water is in dissolved solids the shorter the filter life will be. After Zero Water filters have been exhausted and have not been changed, the water produced from the filter may have a distinct smell or taste and the TDS reading may be higher than your tap water. This is a result of the water passing over the “spent” Ion Exchange Resin beads. We have gone to great lengths in reducing that taste/smell in product development however this is simply a characteristic of filtering water with a Dual-Ion Exchange system.

In order to avoid a change in the taste of the water it is important to test the water regularly and change the filter when the digital meter reads 006.

We do appreciate your feedback.

Poor Pour Design

Compared to other water filters, the reservoir at the top of this filter is tiny. It takes four refills to fill the pitcher with water. Due to the shallow reservoir, water easily spills out when put back in the fridge. Also, an opaque reservoir makes it impossible to see the water level while filling it. The pointless flap covering the spout hinders pouring water. Similar to a wine bottle, this pitcher has a very specific pour angle and any other angle will lead to "glugging" and water spilling everywhere. The handle is not a solid piece with the pitcher, there is a thin tab at the bottom where the handle snaps into place. This adds many nooks and crannies for water and mold to collect. In competing products, the handle and pitcher are one piece of plastic and easier to clean.
