I had a Bose accoustimas 10 set up originally. Though it sounded great and the big sound from a little box was well received it did not have that certain sound quality I was looking for. These were the perfect replacement a little bigger and heavier but not obtrusive.(to me anyway, do not ask my wife!) They look outstanding with the wire copper strung speakers showing. Would have loved these more in white. I wish they made the magnetic covers in white at least. May decide to paint the covers white if I find another set.

Thoughts from a veteran Recording Artist. This Ref Theater Pack is a perfect ensemble for ceiling mounted effects systems like ATMOS & Autos 3D surround setups. Mount these as per Dolby Labs suggestions and these gems will catapult your surround system into the stratosphere of Hollywood magic! Just like you experience at an ATMOS commercial Theater. If used as the needed 5 ceiling speakers, they'll have no problems matching up with the ear level speakers in the rest of your setup. Moreover, the small subwoofer can also be ceiling mounted next to the top center speaker aka Voice of God channel. This will ensure your upper surround speakers deliver the LFE subwoofer range that's critical for the realism of the voice of God Center channel. Knowing that ATMOS DTS-X & AUROS 3D are the future of surround sound? These speakers are a shoe-in match for upgrading a 5.1 or 7.1 pre-existing Home Theater setup. Just look out for surround sound impact so real it'll raise the hairs on the back of your neck. Not sure there's a better solution for ceiling mounted fx speakers without cutting hole in your ceiling & mounting in-ceiling speakers. By the way, in-ceiling speakers (IMO) don't deliver 3d sound like these gems. Buy em' mount em' and blast em' ! ~ peace

I have been a long-time home theater buff (home has always been better than the cinema. My last system was 4.0 surround system with two 12-inch woofer front speakers + surround. The tank confrontation scene in "Saving Private Ryan" rumbled the room and rattled everything not bolted down - felt like we were in the scene. This system does that and better. The 5.1 surround puts you right inside every movie and the ability to dial in the sound to your room and surrounding is a huge plus.
As a musician I have a discerning ear and this system reproduces sound for the most discriminating listener. There are some sources that have overwhelming bass but a turn of the dial on the sub addresses that problem effectively. I have found there is little need for loudness or equalization compensation with this system. The sound is balanced through our preferred listening levels.
Nothing but praise here!

This system was purchased to replace some older Energy TAKE FPS speakers. I am very pleased with this system and the amazing sound that they produce, and they look beautiful.
