Bosch Benchmark Cooktop

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a well designed appliance. The larger burner puts out a lot of heat (?20,000 BTU) and the simmer function works extremely well. The grates are well designed so one can slide a pot from burner to burner as necessary. The only issue I have with the appliance is that moving the gas knobs almost 50% is required to lower the flame. The flame does lower nicely, but there is al lot of play in the first 50% without any impact on the flame. This has not been an issue, and overall we are very satsfied with the product. It was insrtalled with a new downdraft vent and matches it perfectly. I would recommend this cooktop without reservation .

You can find better for the price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We upgraded two years ago and love our Bosch dishwasher so much that we decided to go with their cooktop. It was the design we wanted and for the most part functions as desired. The Simmer option is too hot but the center burning boils water super fast. The stainless steel must be the softest cheapest gauge made though. We have only cleaned it with a soft cloth for SS and it looks like we use steel wool. Even the graphics in the surface are coming off. It looks SO CHEAP and we want to sell our house in a year or 2 (just appraised for $900K and our GE looked better after 10 years!!). Very disappointed and would not purchase if I could do this again :(

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cooktop has the range of heating that our cooking requires. It is a huge improvement over our orginal Bosch Cooktop we purchased 20+ years age.

Great gas stove

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy and simple. Haven't have to clean it yet but the design seems that the process will be simple. Center burner brings water to a boil much faster than any other stove I've had.

YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!

When we redid our kitchen, we decided to buy what we wanted and not worry about the price. We were upgrading to gas--so I had my heart set on a Bosch. After years with black tempered glass, I was looking forward to cooking on Easy Street--WRONG! There is nothing I like about this pricey cook-top! First off, the stainless steel is extremely soft-surfaced. I wipe with a wash cloth leaves a scratch wherever you touch it. Greasy cooking on this thing? Just try to get it clean without digging into the stainless! The knobs come off for cleaning, but the little rubber gaskets drop inside when you pull the knobs off. That extra little "simmer burner" is an absolute disaster. Whoever wrote the copy on this thing must have never tried to melt chocolate or leave an expensive-to-make pot of chili on it! Just to use it, I have to place a rack that suspends the pan about 5" over that simmer burner! Already have had to dig a burned ring out of the bottom of a pot--luckily, the chili didn't have a burned flavor--but would have. Okay--the brand name BOSCH might impress a guest or two, but if they stick around for the clean-up, they're going to see one disappointed cook fiddling with this cooktop when she ought to be able to have coffee with the rest of the party. BOOOO, Bosch. NEVER AGAIN.

Not worth the money

I purchased the Bosch stainless steel cooktop less than a year ago and it already looks a decade old. The product claims to be made out of steel but I think it's actually made out of aluminum because it scratches easily. Don't waste your money on this product. Learn from my mistake and test the durability of the product at the store.

Hot!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We previously had a cooktop that was not very hot (on LP). This one is terrific; heats fast and simmers (on some burners) as well for easy control.
