More powerful than my old cell phone. Some of the features I liked really don't work 90% of the time (face and voice recognition) but its cool when it does work. I love the larger screen can actually read text clearly, movies are easy on the eyes don't really squint or have to have the screen in your face. Music and other audio features are also awesome to listen to on the phone. Overall it is a nice phone. It still is a awesome chose for a smart phone.
Regarding Features and design, I believe it's about the best phone on the market - and MUCH better than the iPhone5 which came out later, or most of the HTC's that don't even have an SD slot. It still has a few glitches, like the lock screen pattern messes up occassionally and I have to restart the phone, and the dialer hanging once in a while.
Upgraded to Jelly Bean a couple weeks ago; much faster, but still with the same issues.
Overall, it's the best phone I've ever had or evaluated, and I'm looking forward to integrating with a Samsung Smart TV. Unfortunately, it appears Samsung pulled access to the Smart View app. in the store for GS3 phones (WHY?)!
A plus....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
I had to come across Flash Player through a third party source otherwise you can't get it from Adobe. After the Jelly Bean update the S3 went from some frequent forceclosed (I have abt 50 apps on my phone, mostly pre-installed that i can't remove) apps to rare foreclosures. Time Warner Cable TV app freezes sometimes.
there is a power saver setting on the phone but I had to tweak the phone further to save more battery life. If you hardly multitask you will consider smartphones to have strong battery life. PLEASE GET A CASE FOR THIS PHONE. This phone is thin, can easily break on hard floor. I bought a case right away. I've read from other users that S Beam doesn't work well with thick cases like Otterbox so go naked to do S Beam or get a gel case.
***I am so glad that Samsung has free Polaris Office. I am a college student who uses Dropbox and Polaris together.***
I tried a regular stylus and wish Note II's special stylus would work so I can have better precision. I just have to save up for the phone or tablet next :-)
You might have little issues, I don't think anyone will find any smartphone perfect, but you will be very satisfied with Samsung Galaxy S3 :-)
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display
Cons: no more flash player after ice cream sandwich
