Good cooktop

Good cooktop with slight problem

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've only had this cooktop for a few weeks and one of the burners is starting to rust. Service company that I was given is closed til end of month. We will see how service is and what the problem is. The heating elements work well

Where is the heat

It is a struggle to have any of the burners generate enough heat to bring water to a boil. The propane tank has no issues providing plenty of energy to the other gas appliances in our home.

Gas Cooktop

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the look of it. it does its job except scratches easily. I bought it because of the stainless steel so that it cleans and shines well. But it scratches easily. when wiping with a cloth shows all the scratches.

It is a mix****

We have had the cooktop for a month. We have a large family and cook a lot and mostly from scratch. Yep...we spend a lot of time In the kitchen.
Pros
The nobs turn easily and the stove ignites everytime.
It is nice having verying BTUs and the simmer options.
It has a nice clean look and functionality. It works great.
We love having five burners.
I like the cast iron grates.
Cons
The surface seems to scratch easily. : ( Be careful when removing and replacing the grates or using metal utensils or cooking tools. Make sure your dishcloth has nothing that will scratch the service on it. We are concerned about durability and keeping it looking nice over time.
The Italian porcelin heat/flame covers need a deeper groove on the bottom to keep them better in place.
Wiping up the stainless steel can be a chore. I haven't figured out yet but something spills and it is tough to get the edge of the spill up. I wipe up the stove after every meal and dish soap smears etc so it requires alot of wiping and drying to get a clean shine. I have used Bar Keepers Friend but it takes several scrubs and wipes with a dish clothe to get all the powder residue up and a clean surface. I have a stainless steel Bosch dishwasher and a Thermador oven that doesn't take much effort in cleaning the surface and drying off smears, greasy finger prints, food splashes etc.

Conclusion: Would we buy it again? I would do more shopping to see if this is typical in cleaning stainless steel cooktop and if they all scratch easily. I like a clean cooktop and if stainless steel requires this much continued cleanup effort and scratches easily I might go back to a glass gas cooktop. I do like the Bosch brand and love my Bosch dishwasher. I think the verdict is still out on my rating on the cooktop and if I would purchase it again. My husband said he would probably not buy it again because of the lack of durability of the surface and thus affecting the long term appearance.
